The process begins with the preparation of the decorative elements. Clear molten glass, heated to over 1,000°C, is brought into contact with the multicolored composition so that the colors and patterns become permanently fused into the surface. The glass is then mouth-blown and shaped by the Master Glassmaker to form the carafe and six glasses. While the piece is rotating, additional threads of molten glass may be applied to complete the decorative design.

Each piece shows subtle variations in shape, color distribution, and glass thickness. Small air bubbles and slight asymmetries are natural characteristics of traditional handcrafted glassmaking and make every piece unique.
