Description

"The most refined amuse-bouches deserve an exceptional presentation on authentic Murano glass crafted using the traditional murrine technique."

The Millefiori plate from the Frame Collection , created by the historic Ercole Moretti glassworks transforms one of Murano's most celebrated glassmaking techniques into an elegant and functional object for everyday use.

Each plate is handcrafted from hundreds of authentic Millefiori murrine, individually arranged to form a vibrant, harmonious, and one-of-a-kind mosaic of color.

It is a small work of art designed not to remain behind the glass of a display case, but to be enjoyed at the table..

What Makes This Plate So Special?

The Millefiori murrine technique is one of the best-known and most intricate traditions of Murano glassmaking.

Each individual murrina begins as a long rod of polychrome glass, created by layering multiple colors of glass. The rods are then drawn out, cooled, and cut into hundreds of thin cross-sections, each revealing a miniature decorative motif.

The master glassmaker arranges each element by hand, carefully balancing the colors throughout the composition. Only then is the composition fused in a kiln to form a single, uniform sheet of glass from which the plate is shaped. The process requires experience, precision, and many hours of meticulous craftsmanship.

The heritage of Ercole Moretti

Founded in 1911, the manufacturing Ercole Moretti is one of Murano's historic glassworks specializing in the art of artistic murrine.

The Moretti family has contributed to preserving and developing this distinctive technique, now recognized as one of the defining traditions of Venetian glassmaking.

Each creation bears the brand authentic Vetro Artistico® Murano art glass.trademark, the official mark guaranteeing authentic Murano origin.
