Description
The Etna Rosso Vase is a sculptural piece made from authentic Vetro Artistico di Murano, inspired by the colors of molten lava and volcanic rock. Layers of ruby red, amaranth, amber, and amethyst blend with clear glass, creating a rich surface that changes in depth and intensity under natural and artificial light.
The vase is created entirely by hand in Murano glass workshops. During the process, the master glassmaker layers several sections of still-molten glass. Clear molten glass is then applied over the surface, flowing freely and visually unifying the entire form. This technique is known as Sruffo. It creates distinctive textures and color transitions that can never be reproduced in exactly the same way.
The piece is completed using the Bullicantetechnique, which traps thousands of tiny air bubbles within the glass. Achieving clarity, depth, varied glass thicknesses, and an even distribution of bubbles requires multiple carefully controlled heating and cooling stages. Each step demands exceptional precision and skill.
Standing over 30 cm tall and weighing approximately 4–5 kg, the vase can be displayed as a decorative sculpture or styled with ornamental branches. Its substantial glass form and rich color palette make it a striking focal point in homes, hotels, executive offices, and professional interior design projects.
