Description
“This vase is called Antares. Antares is one of the brightest stars in the night sky — a red supergiant roughly 700 times larger than our Sun. And when we chose this gift for you, we thought: a love this great deserves a star just as grand!
And if you look closely at the vase, you may notice that its shape gently resembles a heart. We hope it will become a little symbol of your family — may your hearts always be filled with love, your home with flowers, and your life with beautiful colors.
May your love, like Antares, continue to shine for many, many years to come — and even 550 light-years from now, may you be just as happy together as you are today!”
The Antares Vase 0040 Large by NasonMoretti expresses the beauty of Murano glass through a refined balance of form, color, and light. Part of the Antarescollection, designed by Design Studio NasonMoretti, the vase features a generous, harmonious silhouette with an almost spherical body and a short neck that draws attention to the purity of its sculptural volume.
Much of the vase’s distinctive character comes from the traditional Venetian glassmaking technique known as Incamiciato. The name comes from the Italian incamiciare, literally meaning “to dress in a shirt” or “to cover with a layer.” In this technique, the vase is built from multiple layers of glass. The glassmaker first creates a hot glass base in one color, then covers it with additional layers of molten glass in different colors. At high temperatures, these layers fuse together and are then mouth-blown and shaped by hand as a single piece. This means that the vase’s color is not painted on or applied as a surface coating — it is built into the layers of the glass itself. One color can show through another, a lighter inner layer can make the outer color appear brighter and more saturated, while clear glass can add depth and luminosity. The effect becomes especially visible when the vase catches the light and along its edges and curves, where the interaction between the different layers can be seen most clearly. This is what makes Incamiciato particularly fascinating: the glassmaker is shaping not only form and color, but also the way light travels through the layered glass.
Light interacts differently with these layers throughout the day. In natural daylight, the vase appears soft and luminous. In the evening, the colors become more intense and the sculptural form gains a stronger visual presence.
Each piece is entirely hand-blown and hand-shaped in Murano. Subtle variations inherent in the handcrafted process make every vase unique.
Thanks to its generous proportions, Antares 0040 Large can hold substantial floral arrangements or be displayed completely empty as a sculptural art object. It is an especially refined choice for contemporary residences, hotels, boutiques, professional offices, and interior design projects where a single distinctive piece can define the character of the space.

Incamiciato technique and the value of the workmanship
The Incamiciato technique is one of the Murano glassmaking methods that most beautifully showcases the use of color.
The master glassmaker works with multiple layers of still-molten glass, applying them one over another during the same production process. The inner and outer colors interact through the body of the glass itself, creating depth, subtle transitions, and visual effects that cannot be achieved through simple surface decoration.
The broad body of the 0040 model enhances this effect. Its curved surface captures and reflects light, changing the perception of the colors depending on the lighting and viewing angle.
Each vase is made individually. Small variations in proportions, glass thickness, and color intensity are natural characteristics of handmade glass and contribute to the uniqueness of every piece.

Why choose Antares 0040 Grande
The Antares Vase 0040 Large is more than a vessel for flowers. It is a design object in which form and color are just as important as function.
The artisanal production of NasonMoretti, a Murano glassmaker founded in 1923, combines more than a century of glassmaking expertise with an ongoing exploration of proportion and color combinations.
The Incamiciato technique is particularly effective on the 0040 model. Its broad, curved surface allows light to pass through and enhance the different layers of color, changing the way the vase is perceived throughout the day.
A wide selection of color combinations also makes it possible to choose a version that complements a specific interior or to create a coordinated arrangement with other pieces from the Antares collection.
An authentic Made in Muranopiece, created for those who value Italian craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and a distinctive decorative object made to remain relevant for years to come.
