The Shell collection is inspired by the sea, an element deeply connected to Murano and Venice.

The glassmaking process begins by creating a textured, ribbed exterior . The hot glass is then shaped entirely by hand by the Master Glassmaker, who carefully curves the piece until it takes on the distinctive form of an open seashell.

In the Shell Blackmodel, white glass is accented with black glass threads and decorative inclusions, while the interior is enhanced with a mother-of-pearl effect. The result is a small yet visually striking decorative bowl in which form, surface texture, and the transparency of the glass become integral parts of the design.

Light, Reflections & Visual Impact

One of the most distinctive qualities of Shell Black is the way its appearance changes with the light.

The textured, ribbed exterior catches and breaks up the light, giving the black-and-white pattern a more dynamic appearance. The mother-of-pearl interior creates subtle reflections in smoky gray, silver, graphite, and pearl tones.

In natural daylight, the bowl appears brighter and more luminous. Under warm evening lighting, the depth of the glass and the soft, pearlescent reflections of the interior become more pronounced.

On a light-colored surface, the black pattern stands out more prominently. On dark marble, natural wood, or smoked glass, the white and pearlescent areas become more visually prominent.

How to Use It on the Table

For the best visual effect, we recommend leaving the bowl partially unfilled so that its mother-of-pearl interior remains visible.

To help preserve the art glass, we do not recommend using the bowl for very hot foods, sauces, or liquids.
