The Tasting Plate is part of the Classic Collection by the historic Ercole Moretti glassworks and is handcrafted from authentic authentic Vetro Artistico® Murano art glass.. With a diameter of 24 cm, it can be used both for elegant table settings and as a distinctive decorative piece in living rooms, dining rooms, and prestigious interiors.

Each plate is created from hundreds of white Millefiori murrine in shades of turquoise, aquamarine, and lagoon green, fused onto a base of transparent Murano glass. The production process involves preparing the glass canes, cutting the individual murrine, arranging the pattern entirely by hand, and finally fusing the composition at high temperature. A small murrina bearing the letter “M”, incorporated into the composition, is a distinctive mark identifying authentic Ercole Moretti creations.

Subtle variations in the arrangement of the murrine make each plate unique. The transparency of the glass and the shades inspired by the colors of the Venetian Lagoon reveal different depths and intensities under natural and artificial light, creating beautiful reflections that enhance both the table setting and the surrounding interior.

The plate can be used for serving main courses, fish and seafood, sushi, appetizers, cheeses, desserts, and aperitifs. It pairs beautifully with clear glass and crystal, natural linen, marble, wood, and satin-finished metals, making it equally at home in contemporary, Mediterranean, and classic interiors.

Since 1911 Ercole Moretti has been one of Murano’s historic glassworks specializing in the art of decorative murrine. The authentic Vetro Artistico® Murano art glass. certifies the Murano origin and authenticity of the piece.

        Why Choose Lagoon?

The Tasting Plate combines the traditional Millefiori murrine with a contemporary design inspired by the colors of the Venetian Lagoon. Because the murrine are individually arranged by hand, every piece is unique. The exact pattern cannot be reproduced through industrial manufacturing, giving each Lagoon plate its own distinctive character.

The 24 cm format allows Lagoon to be used both for elegant table settings and as a decorative art object. Its turquoise and aquamarine tones beautifully enhance food presentation while pairing effortlessly with natural materials, transparent glass, and both light and dark surfaces.

Lagoon is a refined choice for private residences, restaurants, hotels, yachts, and prestigious hospitality or reception spaces. It also makes an exceptional gift for weddings, anniversaries, or housewarmings, as well as for collectors and connoisseurs of Italian design and authentic Murano glass.
